Sustainable Devlopment Goal

ERS offers practical Public Health Governance services and Training to support local and international NGOs, and organisations in the public health sector to:  Move toward, learn, and implement the principles of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3 or Global Goal 3), regarding Good Health and Well-being.

Target 3.2: End all preventable deaths under five (5) years of age, by helping support the reduction of neonatal mortality.

The COVID-19 pandemic results in fewer women and their babies having access to lifesaving care.  ERS Global partners with international and local public health providers disbursing or receiving external donation to ensure healthcare facilities operate optimally, by being able to identify medical health care risks early in order to mitigate risks associated with short-staffing, and under-equipped healthcare facilities that can negatively impact the under-5 mortality rate as well as the neonatal mortality rate.

Target 3.3: Fight communicable diseases.  By 2030, end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases.

ERS Global provides services by partnering with international donors and local partners in sub-Saharan Africa’s remote locations, to manage governance around the processes deployed for the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases, like AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases.

Target 3.4: Reduce mortality from non-communicable diseases and promote mental health.

ERS Global provides services to manage governance around the processes deployed for the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases, like diabetes, cancer.  ERS Global partners with organisations in sub-Saharan Africa to identify rehabilitation centres and provide education to teenagers and young adults about the dangers of substance abuse, and in particular alcohol and other commonly available drugs.  To promote mental health and well being, to prevent, to treat, and reduce substance abuse, amongst the most able bodied work force and students.

Target 3.8: Achieve universal health coverage.

Achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines, and vaccines for all. Primary health care (PHC) is the most important pathway to achieve universal health coverage.   ERS Global works with local health insurance providers to create reliable and cost effective health care provision through partnering with Health Maintenance Organisations and public health centres in sub-Saharan Africa to provide PHC.  ERS Global understands that PHC can address more than 80 percent of a person's health needs, and if accessible and affordable, can go a long way in improving health care services in sub-Saharan Africa.

Target 3.b: Support research, development and universal access to affordable vaccines and medicines

ERS Global provides services to identify the most efficient means, and cost effective processes to be adopted by local partners in acquiring, and distributing vaccines, in efficacious and transparent ways.  ERS Global has local in-country public health partners and resources to convey critical information about the benefits of vaccinations, in particular to encourage the uptake of covid-19 vaccinations.
